    Internal jugular vein compressible, carotid pulsatile, depth noted.

  2. 02

    Sterile field

    Full barrier precautions; sheath the probe.

  3. 03

    Needle in plane

    Track the tip into the vein; aspirate dark blood.

  4. 04

    Seldinger

    Wire in; confirm in vein on ultrasound before dilating.

  5. 05

    Catheter & secure

    Flush all lumens; confirm tip position.
